Bank Charges
The long two year legal battle between the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and several of the High Street banks over the right to re claim unfair bank charges, has finally come to a conclusion with the Supreme Court finding in favour of the banks.
This was a blow for those people who were hoping for a refund of charges, some totalling thousands of pounds.

There could be a new chapter unfolding. The new coalition government promises ''measures to end unfair bank and financial transaction charges'' The government also plans to ban ''excessive interest rates on credit and store cards''. This can only be good news for consumers.
